L & G Tahi the Tui

Tahi the Tūī is the first voice heard in Fern Forest each morning. His song drifts through the kōwhai trees, wakes Koko the Kiwi in his cosy nest and tells Kip the Kea that a new day has begun. When the forest is wrapped in fog and the familiar path is hard to see, Tahi perches above his friends and sings from one tree to the next. Tess the Takahē follows the sound, with Koko and Kip close behind. Tahi may be small, but his clear voice helps everyone find their way home. He loves knowing that a cheerful song can make the forest feel safe and familiar.
